Yikes. Hadn't realized that Reed had suffered 2 previous concussions at FL. That's 4 all together.

Thats because he hasnt been tainted by the name hater crowd at WAPO. He can maintain objectivity and doesnt feel that his career will be best advanced by bashing the local team at every turn possible. You can bet Stienberg was literally itching to write the next melt down piece had we lost that game.

That's an interesting point. It's gotta be hard covering a team for years of ineptitude but you still have to be professional. It's one of the reasons I appreciate Keim and Jones. Jerry has been a really nice addition.

What a great win against the team I hate the most. Fuck that POS Chip Kelly and his swollen ego. Fuck all those thug fans, they don't deserve a winner. Good for Kirk for coming up big, just a great final drive. The penalties are getting out of control, we are now forced to hold our breath after every good play for a full 3 seconds before we know if it stays. That simply has to improve. I've always been a big Garçon guy, we saw his value yesterday. That winning TD was a fantastic play on both ends.

As for Jordan Reed let's move on. Besides the obvious injury problem I'm a bit tired of all the mistakes he makes every single game.

This penalty issue has gotten out of control. Here's the question......how can coaching affect this? Is this more on the players poor execution or is this indicative of a leadership problem?

The penalty thing is an indication of where the NFL is going and what they want. Notice that more calls go against the defense and defensive penalties tend to be harsher. The only thing wrong with how we are playing in most cases is, we are not playing soft enough to allow the 45-40 shootouts that the NFL ultimately wants. Excitement sells tickets and beer.

I get that the league has set up the rules to favor the offense, but that doesn't explain all of thE offensive penalties we incur every week. Hell, the first play of the game we have an illegal formation call. The first play! They script out the first few series in practice every week. How the hell can you have an illegal formation on something that you've run in practice multiple times in preparation for the game?

Thats called a brain fart. It happens. First start jitters maybe??

IM seeing a serious uptick in penalties across the league though. So I tend to think its not just a Redskins issue.

I was so pissed at the start, as j says they knew exactly what play they were going to run. I am seeing a lot of questionable and down right bad calls, I mean more than usual. And as Shark says it's all over the league so I'm putting some on the officials. Sure makes it hard to enjoy a game now.

Agree. The funny thing is that at many times they basically ignore offensive holding. Someone like Kerrigan is obviously held numerous times during a game yet the refs look the other way. This also used to be true for Orakpo and I am pretty sure for many pass rushers on other teams (who don't have a rep where the refs will give them the benefit of the doubt).

The current state of officiating in the NFL is a complete joke. I also don't want to hear the NFL ever claim that they are trying to speed up the game since the barrage of calls slows down the game considerably especially when they appear to have those referee conferences on what appears to be every other play.

Gotta give credit to Garcon who is ripped by the fans way too often. The guy was clutch & super tough. Can't wait to see him team again with Jackson especially since some of the younger receivers are now stepping up.

IM hoping we get Djax back this week, as we will need him if we are to have any realistic chance to outscore the Falcons.

I have seen a couple of people rip Garcon here. Just don't agree the guy is a football player. Overpaid? Maybe a bit but he is an example to younger players. This team needs guys like that to the younger guys.
