The hardest part for me is deciding what new perk I want.

The dog does get in your way in enclosed spaces. I'd much rather just travel by myself. The difficulty is on very hard so I have to be smart in the way I attack a band of bandits, a little difficult but I enjoy a high level of difficulty. I also don't use VATS or power armor. Other than the lame Bethesda animations the game is a step up from FO:NV.

Really disappointed with the lack of a built-in hardcore mode but there should be a mod for it pretty soon. Glad I bought it on PC.

You're a better man than me.

I've been playing on normal, and getting my stealth/sniper killed by the odd legendary freaking blowfly.

No power armor for me yet, but I can't imagine going up against large groups of supermutants forinstance, without some help.

The AI seems much more fierce in 4. I tried to pot shot snipe at some mutants at a satellite array and the bastards would just swarm me, even if I ran a LONG way off to hide. That was my go-to strategy in NV and 3, stealth/attack/retreat - rinse and repeat.

I've had more time to play, and I think this game is excellent.

My only criticism is the shooting. I know it's an RPG and not a FPS. But still, I feel like shot registration/magnetism with sights and scopes could be better. I'm getting more used to VATS, but I still don't like it all that much.

I enjoy the construction aspect of the game more than most. Setting up supply lines makes it easier to manage/share the junk....and I pick up everything.

LOVE that you don't have to break junk down to get the parts.

I'm up to level 20, and went to try to do a mission in a town I hadn't discovered, and got annihilated in about 3 seconds last night. The game is pretty challenging for me.

The NPC's can be annoying, but it's not as bad as Skyrim. I can't wait to have bigger populations in my settlements so I can just start wasting the ones who get in my way.

Oh yeah, and I've been using the duplication exploit with Dog Meat. I have 40 fusion cores now. I don't care.

How do you increase defense for The Sanctuary? I put a fence around the whole thing and it still says 0.

I blame Dark Souls for doing this to me. I mainly just sneak into range with an automatic and open fire from a good position, while sneak attack sniping where I can. Don't get me wrong though, I try to avoid crazy situations where I'm outnumbered by a ton.

I think I may have found Walter White. If you've discovered the Mass Fusion Containment Shed, there is a body in front next to a truck wearing a bowler hat and looks exactly like the Breaking Bad character. Didn't find any easter eggs proving this but it looks exactly like him. Tried to go back to look at it again and the body disappeared, probably just a bug but let me know if any of you guys think it's him if you've come across it.

Interesting... I came across one for the first time about the same time you did yesterday. It was patrolling a fleet of wrecked vehicles between The Slog and Breakheart Banks in the northeast quadrant of the map.

I'm glad I had a plasma mine with me.

By the way, The Slog can be annexed as a settlement once you complete the mission there. It has a bountiful crop of corn.

Corn (x3) + Mutfruit (x3) + Tato (x3) + Purified Water (x1) makes Vegetable Starch (Cooking --> Utility).

Vegetable Starch scrapped = +5 Adhesive each.

A bountiful supply of Adhesive provides the means to add some powerful upgrades to your weapons.

Weapons that give increased chance to cripple, and auto's with bleed are the keys to the game.

Once you get one, or both of them, you become a death machine.

The Suicidal Mutants were driving me nuts until I figured out how to get them to work for me..

I'm at level 12 now and the game has definitely gained momentum. Definitely having some fun.

I finally got to Fenway Park. Now I can sell off the 20+ pipe Pistols, 30+ pipe rifles etc, etc, etc, that I've been accumulating for most of the game. I can now buy some stuff I want.

Last night I went a little hog wild with scrapping and accidentally scrapped a food station at the sanctuary...is there any way to get that back?

Yes you can build them, don't remember which sub-menu it was under though.

Dunno if anyone else has been to the bar along the river to the east of Diamond City, but it didn't kick in for me, until I saw the 2 skeletons sitting on two adjacent stools, one with a Postman's hat (which you can take).

I'm sure there were probably some more obscure Cheers references in there, but I didn't see them.

Heh.

Just a little southwest of Outpost Zimonja is a shack under the freeway, it has boatflies flying around, one was a legendary boatfly and it was carrying a legendary pipe rifle gun, it is my go to gun. With a few upgrades it does 29 damage, uses .38 bullets, 83 fire rate, 203 range, 71 accuracy and weighs 4.4 pounds, and bullets explode on impact doing 15 points area effect damage. I prefer this gun to a mini gun.

I've got a shotgun right now that wrecks.

The magazine size is only 2 shells, but it reloads fast, and kills most enemies with one or two shots. I killed a glowing one earlier, and it took 4 shots.

I've been using 'Righteous Authority' that you get for doing one of the BOS quests. Upgraded it a couple of times so it now does 40+ fire damage. Once I get my science up another level, I'll be able to max it out at 70.
