Now that Kentucky has gone down, how do you feel about the team? Which of the following would you use to describe Kentucky?

(A) one of the greatest teams of all time, just ran into some bad luck near the end with Wisconsin

(B) overrated frauds bolstered by a weak conference (SEC) schedule

(vote in the poll!)

False dichotomy - RationalWiki

If you only offer two choices, and both rely on hyperbole, you did it wrong.

The Political Compass on why there's no midline option:

This makes it too easy for people to duck difficult issues. By forcing people to take a positive or negative stance, the propositions make people really evaluate their feelings. Often people find they wanted to select 'don't know' mainly because they'd never really thought about the idea.

Same idea. Having a choice in the middle just lets people dodge the question. Think about it, and choose the side you lean toward. No weakass waffling or hedging!

You can offer positive and negative responses that aren't hyperbole. You could also offer moderately positive and negative responses in addition to the hyperbole.

Your poll is buillshit, plain and simple.

If you want to make it a black/white issue, then ask one unambiguously phrased question.

You've asked one ambiguously phrased question and offered two answers that don't necessarily answer it.

Was the UK team one of the greatest of all time?
-YES
-NO

Not that fucking hard.

Was this UK team a fraud?
-YES
-NO

Not that fucking hard.

Still don't understand why your poll is bullshit?

What color is this square?

One of the more talented teams of all time, but lack too much experience to be called one of the greatest. If they are still together in 2 years ( and you know they won't be) they'd most likely be the best of all time. Playing in the SEC probably prolonged the undefeated season longer than it should have gone.

I don't like either of the choices. Kentucky was a fantastic team. An extremely talented and well coached team. But no they weren't properly vetted in the SEC. The SEC was terrible. They had a few tough opponents in OOC play but I think they were at home except for Louisville. And it was pretty clear that the best team they had faced before last night was Notre Dame who took them to the brink. So obvioulsy they will be remembered. They'll be remembered by US, all of us who watched this run this season. They will not be historic. They will not be seen the way champions are. They are not what UNLV was because the Rebels were the defending champs. Wisconsin will be remembered more for beating them than they will be for getting this far undefeated, especially if Wisconsin can handle Duke tomorrow night. So I don't think they are one of the most historic teams nor were they frauds. They just did not prove themselves to be the best team in the country when it mattered most.

ON, WISCONSIN!!!

Your question was were they one of the best teams of all time or a fraud. There is way to much middle ground. The best teams of all time would likely dismantle this young Kentucky team. There are a few Kentucky teams that would dismantle this Kentucky team. It doesn't make them frauds.

the experience factor was the knock on them last year losing to UConn in the finals.

Funny that there are twice as many commenters as there are voters. I wonder why that is?

very over-rated away from home
Invincible at home

Time and Time again they were challenged by inferior teams on the road
They never played anyone challenging outside of Kentucky until Notre Dame/Wisconsin.

All the other "tougher' games were played in the state of Kentucky.
