I got what you meant, if more control prevented one less shooting it helps and I'm for it. There will never be a perfect solution but everything as it is now is NOT working and things in both countries must change

Just throwing this out there but why can't guns all be fitted with GPS chips that need to be activated to use. If it's actively moving in an area populated by people and not game they set off an alarm. If the chip is disabled, it's a crime.

They do similar things with vehicles (for DUI convicts).

The search continues. What I'm hearing is that RCMP officers within a several hour radius are on their way to help with the search. Not only that, but even municipal police from several hours away are sending help. I've never heard of that happening before, at least not around here. I can't help but wonder if there is any suspicion at all that there might be more than 1 guy.

Everything I've seen has had him out in the open, but now they're requesting via social media that 1) people not discuss specific movements of the police and 2) to call 911 if you see the shooter. I did see a *brief* rumor about suspicion of a second shooter, but apparently it was an unrelated event nearby that was handled. However, in these situations they ALWAYS have to consider that there's more than one involved.

Hospitals in the area are under code orange (mass casualties), but I assume that's likely preventative in case of such a situation. Apparently they've called in nurses and all docs.

Question for my Canadian brethren: how big is Moncton? Is it a metropolis or more of a "we have one high rise" or "we have one stop light"? I know they have a junior team, so I assume it's a bit bigger?
