However, carney was a good hitter, but he came from different generation, and apparently had trouble communicating. Bam bam is closer in age, but he is also an outsider who didn't have a shit load of success anyway.

Ptmfb is one of their own, has multiple rings, and has a very distinct strategy at the plate.

Automatic, clear great idea? Nope.

Potentially a good recipe? Yup.

As one who thinks hitting coaches are mostly decorative, sure why not? It might indeed improve things a smidge.
