Too bad about Cheechoo. He was a great story and he played his ass off. But after the injury porblems his lack of raw talent became very apparent. Someone should pick him up as a grindline guy. With an appropriate contract I think that he could still be an NHLer.

Value wise it's pretty good but I don't know if Murray's going to trade Spezza now. He opened his mouth prematurely but really really backed off at the draft on his stance on Spezza. I think he realizes that we're not going to get good value for Spezza finally. Hopefully Spezza isn't too pissed but Murray is still an idiot for completely throwing Spez under the bus.

I don't think Regier would offer up that package tbh with you though.

That would be a team to recon with. And Ottawa would get a fair deal in return too.

We would have 2 legit scoring lines, a young energy line, and a hard checking line. The young ones would fire up the veterans and the 4th line would provide alot of grit we've lacked in the past.

According to capgeek, Kotalik's buyout will cost the Flames $1 million/year for the next four years. Dash endlessly bitches about Kotalik so I looked this up...

Sutter's moves:

Trades Matt Lombardi, Brandon Prust, and Brandon Gormley for Olli Jokinen
Then he traded Jim Vandermeer to get Prust back
Then he trades Jokinen and Prust for Kotalik and Higgins

So, essentially he traded

Lombardi, Prust, Gormley, Jokinen, Vandermeer and Prust again to return Higgins and Kotalik

And now there's only Higgins. If they can resign him.
