i believe its a major factor

It is, but i'm not going to use it as an excuse. This team's poor play is the biggest reason for our struggles. I want the team from game 1 to show up on the ice. Or the team who rose to the occassion in game 7 against the Flyers. Not this shit show.

I don't totally blame him, it is a hellacious schedule, but at the same time, he probably wouldn't have complained about it had they won last night - it's their own doing too, if they played hard in that Flyers series it wouldn't have gone 7 games in all likelihood - this is their problem, I said this in the Flyers series, Rangers can never put anybody away and it ends up killing them - they've been this way for a few years now - they couldn't put Ottawa and the Caps away two years ago until the 7th game and they couldn't put New Jersey away either and ended up losing that series - the Flyers with the way they played this year in this series, it was unbelievable that they got to a 7th game and the Rangers let the Flyers back in this series so many times it wasn't even funny

Rangers out shot the Pens 35-15 last night and had a four minute power play that was perfectly divided over the end of the first period and beginning of the second. To not score on that or the other four opportunities they had is the real problem.

Agreed when the Rangers didn't score on the four minute PP that doomed them, the Penguins were bound to score after that and they did

We were down 3-2 in the Ottawa series two years ago and won game 6 in their building and game 7 is ours. How is that not putting the team away? That's a bad comparison, since they couldn't put us away.

Yep, Regis even said after the Pens killed it at the beginning of the second that it was a bad omen for the Rangers. You just don't get many man advantages like that in the post-season. To not cash at least one of them in is just asking for trouble. Rangers are now 0-34 on the powerplay.

Shit, I don't hate the Rangers. I'm actually kind of glad it ended up being NY in the second round and not Philly. This excuse with the amount of games played is just too much for me. The NHL playoffs are all about heart. It's not like the rangers were the only team playing a back to back last night. They had five man advantages in game three. To not cash in at least one of the five? That's not going to win you many playoff games.

Hey, I don't support the excuses, think i've made that rather obvious. I don't agree with 6 games in 9 days, that's not right for any team, not just my own. We just suck, playing with no heart, no energy, no emotion. They look life-less out there, this team has done a complete 180 since game 1.

The series is far from over, Johnny. The Rangers can tie this thing up tomorrow night, and then it's a best of three. And I'm pretty sure there aren't any back to backs scheduled for games 5 thru 7. :suds:

You shouldn't have trailed 3-2 in that series to begin with, you should have put them away earlier - you lost twice on home ice to them that year

Also: the back to back thing stinks, and the number of games stinks, but if the Pens/CBJ series had gone to 7 games, their game 7 would've been the same night as NYR/PHI. Finish the series before game 7 and you get an extra break. AV using it as an excuse seems pretty petty.

Not to mention the 6 on 4 PP they had toward the end of the game (6 on 3 1/2 when Sutter (I think) lost his stick for like 20 seconds.) Not saying NY should have comeback and tied it, but scoring at least one goal right there would have done wonders for their mentality.

Hagelin suspended, Boyle concussed and no suspension for Neil, Craig Andersson played out of his mind that series. Which is typical for a mediocre goalie against us in the playoffs. And that team was a low-scoring team, always has been, always will be. It's just the way your comments come across ''putting teams away'' you talk as if we were up 3-0 in series' and lost 4 straight. But I guess being up 1-0 or 2-1 in a series to you makes it pretty much over. But since it's us, it gives you a reason to hate and act like we're the Sharks' who collapse year after year. Whatever, Marcus.

They continue to play like this, series will be over by Friday.

This

Go back and look at all the SC winners since it went to all 7 game series. Only one winner had to play 6 or 7 games in all three series prior that was the '98 Red Wings and they didn't even have a seven game series.

The team that might have had the toughest out of previous SC winners was Boston - they played three game 7's that year(including the finals) - the only series that didn't go seven was when they swept the Flyers, so they had a week off after that which helped

But I agree that teams who have to go 6 or 7 games every series, tend to have more trouble as time goes on - it's just a matter of having an inability to put teams away
