1 other thing why are the Capitals trading for all the old Penguins players. I see they got Daniel Sprong.

They sent him to the AHL, it is a weird trade but they probably figured they wanted a backup for a forward that doesn't play defense in case Kovalchuk gets hurt.

From the Ducks perspective, I guess they wanted Marcus Pettersson type back?

Yeah a +35 contract and if SJ wasn't willing to take on most of the salary I doubt he was wanted. Also he had a NMC and unless a team was a real Cup contender, per reports he nixed those deals.

Too much turmoil over the past week or two is causing Sully to make some very questionable lineups and a team that isn't used to each other.

My god though, Pettersson sucks ass...please bench him and play Trottman. Why they didn't add D to their roster vs bottom turd wingers is beyond me...

Well Letang/Johnson is brutal and Shultz has been awful, they desperately need Dumoulin and Marino back.


If Healthy I would see this as the lines:

Sheary-Crosby-Zucker
Rust-Malkin-Hornqvist
McCann-Bjugstad-Marleau
Reese-Blueger-Tanev

Simon/Rodrigues

Letang-Dumoulin
Marino-Pettersson
Shultz-Ruhwedel-Trotman-Rikkola-Johnson-

Per the analytics, Ruhwedel/Rikkola has been a pretty good pairing but not sure it is sustainable.
