One day after he crashed into the end boards following a goal, the Penguins announced that Jake Guentzel underwent shoulder surgery and will miss the next 4-6 months.

since he will be placed on LTIR, his salary will not count towards the cap.

Because of my work schedule I only get to see the Penguins play about 10-15 times a season before the playoffs. So I don't notice third and fourth liners that much. I have been sitting here watching the 2nd period tonight and going who is #24 he has speed, stick handling, and a lot of energy. Doesn't seem to have a finishing move though. Look him up and see those JR numbers in some obscure European league.

Guentzels injury seems to be the breaking point for this team. Tried Galchenyuk...puke...with Malkin-Rust. Now Kahoun...meh

I wish they would give Tanev a shot with Malkin-Rust
