Melancon has pitched 4/5 he gets 2 days for sure, lets hope the grilli preliminarily reports are accurate, we dont have to make a BP move if its a 2-3 week deal.

pedro hit a bomb with 2 strikes.
awesome.
it would be amazing if he gets to 40 HR.
who was the last non roid(giles) to go for 40 as a pirate.

As good as he was Giles never had 40, he did have 39 that year he broke his hand late in the season though, and high 30's a few other years.

Seriously the last 40 HR hitter for the Pirates was Pops in '73!

Parker, Jason Thompson, JIm Morrison, Bonds, Bonilla, Giles, Ramirez and Bay never hit 40.

Threw them in there mainly as a joke but they were the closest semblence of a power hitter in the 80's between the Stargel/Parker to Bonds/Bonilla era.

willie was my idol as a kid,
i didnt think anyone topped his 73 year, but i thought someone hit 40.
oh well, our parks werent really HR friendly. goes to show how much power wilver dornell stargell really had esp in a relatively dead ball/pitchers era.

Mercer's been hitting well lately. And we haven't scored, but Gonzalez is throwing a lot of pitches it appears.

Let's have a big inning.

how does burnett get the run in with one out and martin cant.

we are terrible with men on third and less than 2 out.

we could be chipping away and almost even. at least gio will be at 100PC thru 5.

Yeah I was surprised that no one has.

As for this game this is a nice little comeback after a brutal defensive inning.

I figured we had lost already, was just checking the box score to see who gave up those runs and wow

This would be a huge comeback broom job if we can get to extras.

Was going to happen sooner or later with Mazzaro and Morris with their peripherals. Honestly surprised Mazzaro has pitched that well for that long in a Pirate uniform.

Seriously who would have thought at 100 games they would have 60 wins!

We were at the game yesterday and it was a complete mental breakdown that killed the Pirates, from the three errors in the first to Pedro Alvarez rounding the bag, leading to Hurdle's ejection.

Even Jordy Mercer took off from second immediately on the line drive Pedro laced towards Lombardozzi, which led to a double play.

All-in-all, it was a good series, but that last game was sloppy.

Also, AJ Burnett got a solid standing ovation from all the Bucco fans at Nationals Park and gruffly saluted on his way towards the dugout after the 7th. He didn't look too happy about much of anything that happened that day as he gruffly saluted the fans.
