Why would you want to get your QB or anyone important injured in a week 18 game and throw your entire playoffs in jeopardy? Finishing up the longest season in league history, you want to give your guys a much needed rest before the final stretch that is the playoffs.


#2 seed is so completely fucking lost in it's value now with it no longer giving a bye week.

The 2 seed now gets HFA if the 1 seed gets upset.

Which is no different than the past. They lose the bye week which was the most valuable aspect of that #2 seed. Especially now after they have extended the season an extra game.

It is different than the past. With the 2 seed having to play 1 more game that's now 2 games they don't have to travel vs the 3 seed getting the first game at home than have to go on the road for the 2nd game and possibly 3rd. Plus like I said if the top seed gets bounced, than the 2 seed doesn't have to travel till SB if they make it that far.

First off the #3 seed also has the chance at 2 home games if the #1 seed loses just as you keep giving 3 possible home games to the #2 seed. That said of course I would rather the #2 seed road but I would not at all if the cost is having to play my starters in an otherwise meaningless week 18 game after the longest season in NFL history. I care more about having my guess rested, rejuvenated even maybe and healthier than they would be if they were to play in week 18. I don't want to risk losing anyone in that final week just to try to get a #2 seed that doesn't even offer a bye anymore.
