Now our bats are back. Fourteen hits and two more runs. Schwarber singled to center, Merrifield scored, Stubbs to second. Then, Harper singled to center, Stubbs scored, Sosa to third. 6-0 Phillies.
Our bats looked really good yesterday. Schwarber nails the bomb for the first run. Then, Pache singled to left, Castellanos scored, Stott to second. That sequence was typical of the runs we did score. Perhaps the players really feed off what Schwarber does at the beginning of the order.
It's amazing how travel, long plane rides, and changes in scenery have negative effects on players abilities. Phils managed to salvage 2 of 6 on the road trip and still have the best record in MLB.
So true jvett, especially with the Phillies. They didn't adjust well after flying having no extra day for it before the Rockies series. They looked out of sorts and we both speculated they def looked like a team who stayed-up most of the night with some partying activities.
Then they just couldn't get going in the SanFran series. If they would have won that extra-innings scoreless affair with SanFran, the overall trip may not have appeared to be so bad.
The win yesterday will carry momentum back to Philly to open the series tomorrow with the Redbirds. They should be back to their dominant selves in Philly again.
