I don't know jvett? In the last game against the Mutts, Clemens could not hit the broad side of a barn door with a bat. Might have been a bad game or he is a streaky kind of hitter.

The ability to steal wins, to continuously come back late in games doesn't seem like a characteristic that should easily translate from one year to the next, but the Phillies are putting it to the test.

Well, he's only had 23 ABs and is hitting .304/.333/.826 with 3 HRs and 8 RBIs. Not very shabby. Listed as a first baseman, I wonder what other positions he could play in case somebody goes down. He needs to prove himself after hitting .145 in Detroit and .230 last year for the Phils.

I don't know if it is a skill or just confidence when you know you have a good team. The Braves have been doing that all year too.

Agreed jvett! He is like the old Dildoes. This new Phillies version of on fire bats has taken a while to develop. Harper, Schwarber, Castellanos, Bohm, Realmuto, and a few others can come from behind at will and take a game. Marsh, Clemens, Sosa and a few newbies are stuck in Dildoe land of old. We will be an even bigger powerhouse when those guys get it!!

Yep I agree. Two things different this year: Our bats are consistently on fire and our bullpen has improved with fireballers like Strahm in there.

Starters setting the tone but Phillies' bullpen also spectacular of late

Starting pitching has set the tone all season, but the Phillies are 27-1 when leading after six innings because of a deep and talented bullpen that has excelled in May.
