The Phillies really need to address their Relief Pitching staff. Collectively, they are horrible. We need to continue to search out Relief help wherever we can dredge it up.

What's amazing is, with those pitchers, we were able to win 14 of 16. Hitting is the biggest reason and Thompson's use of the pitching and some luck.

Yep, you are right on, jvett. Because those Douchebags Relievers are too Douchie to be positively constructive, it has to be other factors contributing to the consisting winning and apparently Girardi couldn't or wouldn't see them to make the necessary changes. We need to continue to add pitching. One more good starter and a host of relievers.

Looking at the standings and stats, among the 30 MLB teams, the Phils and Yankees are tied for second in runs scored at 327, with the Mets at 337. Amazing in view of the Phillies slow start. Phils may finish the season at the top. :suds:

According to Thomson, the Phillies may re-work their Relief Pitching staff with three potential additions in the near future. Thomson stated:

"Looking down the road, it’s possible that the Phillies could get second-half contributions from three left-handers who are coming back from injury and building their workloads with competitive innings in the minors.

Reliever Ryan Sherriff (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch for Triple A Lehigh Valley on Friday night. Reliever JoJo Romero (elbow) is scheduled to get an inning for Class A Clearwater on Friday. Starter Kent Emanuel (elbow) is scheduled to pitch for Double A Reading on Sunday.

All three pitchers have big-league time.

“Absolutely,” Thomson said when asked if the three pitchers could be factors with the big-league club during the second half of the season.

Reliever Sam Coonrod is still recovering from a shoulder injury. His timetable is not clear."

Gotta love a Pitcher with a surname of "Coonrod". LOL!
