I'm curious to hear what people think about B Schenn not being able to crack Canada's line-up.

well Canada is pretty stacked up front..

Hall
Couturier
Duchene
Schenn
Eberle
Eakin
Giroux
Mackinnon
Ennis
Toffoli
OReilly
Crosby
Spezza
Seguin

The only one's that aren't no-brainer better than Schenn is Eakin IMO. Ennis is on the border, but I'd probably take him over Schenn too.

I'd put Toffoli as being close to Schenn as well. Still, it begs the question of whether to trade Schenn now while he still has value, or hold onto him hoping he takes a leap forward in the next year or two. It also cements the position that trading Couturier would be stupid, unless the return was significant.

I think I'd rather have Toffoli, but good point, he's on the list of questionable.

I still say hold on to him. I think the chance that he can outperform what his return would be is high enough that it makes it worth it to hang on to him. At least see what he can do under a different coach. I think both Schenn and Couturier will be significantly better under a different coach.

I don't like selling low on guys. I'd rather give him another year, see what he can do. If he doesn't improve, you have a decision to make with an RFA.

I would take Tyler Toffoli 10 times out of 10 over Brayden Schenn - TT had five shorthanded goals this season and is a legitimate force for the Kings

I know Hexy has talked about wanting to improve the blueline this offseason and it would have to be via trade - maybe he uses Brayden Schenn as that chip to improve the defense

I do think that both 10 and 14 will improve under a new coach - they need to be in more offensive situations because the only way to count on them offensively is to put them in more offensive situations - I hope they can find a PK'er who can take the load off of Couts so that he can be counted on for more offense

The Memorial Cup starts on May 22nd. Rimouski has already made it since Quebec is the host. If I remember correctly NHLNetwork covers all of it so Morin will be on TV for us to watch.

The other two teams will be Oshawa/Erie and Brandon/Kelowna. That means possibly seeing a combination of McDavid, Strome, Provorov, and Merkley.

so Canada lines today... (playing Austria, already clinched a medal round birth)

Hall.Couturier.Eberle
ORielly.Giroux.Seguin
Mackinnon.Duchene.Spezza
Schenn.Ennis.Toffoli/Eakin

if you wanted to see Coots play with legit linemates, today's you're lucky day!

Also good to see Schenn in the lineup.

10 goals and our three players combined had a goal and an assist. Not very encouraging.

Canada wins 9-0 over Belarus today. Gee and Couts get an assist and Schenn didn't play.

Couturier was a +13 and was not on the ice for an EV Strength goal against in the tournament (9 games).

I watched last nights game Russia vs Canada and Couts looked awesome. Its easy to see why he put up some goals and points on this team is because he played in front of the net on offense instead of outside the circles. He was either in close to shoot or get a rebound. He also showed a lot of toughness in the scrums after the whistle which he doesn't do much in Philly.

Gee was awesome in this game maybe the best player on the ice for both teams. The announcer said he was voted third best player on the Canadian team for the tourney and it showed last night as he played his best game of the tourney.

PS I kept saying last night as that's when I watched on DVR.

I'll be in Quebec the 27th and 28th. Wonder if my boss wants to go to the Remparts/Oceanic game.....

oh man, could get tickets for like $30.

I'll be jealous if you go. I am sure any Memorial Cup game is awesome, let alone one featuring one of our best prospects

Not at the game like I had hoped, but watching the rimouski game. Morin with a nice one timer goal. Also got turnstiled pretty badly on the remparts 2nd goal. Other noticeable, his reach is ridiculous.
