Sonny, the QB at my local high school is more accurate than Brady who is the lease-accurate passer in the NFL this season. No, you won't hear anyone talking about that and those who do "aren't taken seriously" or are outright tarred and feathered. We're simply not allowed to talk about it but it's the truth.

Repeating it over and over doesn't make it any more true. I'm still waiting for a link to this stat. Because what may have been true week 4 is damn sure not true after the last 5 games he played.

Intellectually dishonest...congrats on that. :L

Wow kid will be a HOFer if he is more accurate than the guy with the least amount of int( tied with AR). I'm sure Peyton would be this kid's backup in your local HS

He doesn't have many INTs because his throws aren't close to anyone, Sonny. If you guys didn't have Wilt Chamberlain playing TE for you, Brady would have been benched after the KC debacle.

"But we beat the Bears!!!" :L

But we beat Raiders and Jets too ( barely). The other guy wants to make completions, even if to the other team. Its nice to have some height when your top receivers are 5'9

Hammer Pats screwed the pooch when they let Tebow walk, what he would do with that arsenal. We saw what he did in Denver with 0 weapons

We know he'd improve the passing game which would make the Pats invincible, which they pretty much are now.

I agree the rest of the teams should just forfeit the games and send the Lombardi to Foxborough. But then again the owners need the revenue to pay the players. They have some tough matchups ( less than 30 point wins) at Indy,Detroit, at GB, at SD so 3 potential MVP's in Luck,Rodgers and Rivers

Look on the bright side folks, at least Egghead......err, Peyton didn't choke when he played New England's sucktastic defense two Sundays ago.

He just plain got his ass kicked from start to finish.

How quickly some NE fans or Brady fans seem to forget the AFC Championship game where Tom Brady was getting tossed around and missing receivers by 5 yards when they were wide open. I can handle a beat down in the regular season as long as Peyton just keeps beating Brady in the playoffs. I mean Manning has won the last 2 meetings in the playoffs when it actually matters that you win. You know the whole when you don't want to choke time...

I'm going to have to ask you to stop this immediately. Under no circumstances bring that AFC CG up again! We're not allowed to discuss that here.

One minute?

"It's all about the playoffs!!!"

The next?

"Why do you keep bringing up the playoffs?"

We haven't forgotten the loss in Denver at all. Likely the Patriots haven't either. I am sure Belichick is reminding them every week on that.

Still a lot of football to be played.

We should just merge this with the Patriots/Brady thread, right? Because that's what this bullshit thread is REALLY about. Insecurity and fear. This thread is positively dripping with it.

The reality is that no QB in NFL history has lost as many playoff games they were favored to win as Mannings 8. Now if you want to point to stats and numbers to laud Peytons greateness then go for it ( and youll be right, hes a stud ) but you dont then get to ignore the facts that point to him failing in many situations where he was supposed to succeed.

Manning is pretty much favored in every game he steps foot in. Heck even in NE a couple of weeks ago where NE hasn't lost in years to an AFC opponent Manning was favored so not sure you can discount that considering pretty much every game he loses he is favored.

And PatsFan2003 you are right there is plenty of football to be played. It is why the Broncos losing a couple of weeks honestly wasn't that big of a deal. The biggest part of it is possibly the tie breaking issue but even there the Broncos have lost to the Pats the last 2 years before this season in the regular season but yet got the #1 seed for the playoffs. So at this point it was a nice win for the Patriots but it doesn't mean much at this point. We shall see if they can do that again in the playoffs or not. As for Manning he has actually won the last 2 meetings between him and the Patriots in the playoffs. I would say that should show the whole "choke" narrative is just overblown. He has done plenty in the playoffs. Yes he has had some one and dones but he has also helped lead a team to a Super Bowl Championship and lead 2 other times where they made it to the big game. To me there are only a handful of guys in the league that have done that. So if you are going to call anybody the "choke artist" or whatever I would say those other say 29 quarterbacks would fall more into that category.

Absolutely. He is 9-8 in playoff games he is favored in and only 2-4 as the underdog. That means he is favored almost 75% of the time. Thats a shit ton. It also means he should be like 12-5 or 13-4 in those games though. Thats all Im saying.

We are talking playoffs here though where you just don't know what is going to happen. Every year there is that one team that comes out of nowhere surprising people beating the teams that just should not be beat. It is what you get with a single game elimination form that the NFL has. It is great but it doesn't always show who the best actually is but more who just happened to be the best that day. Should Manning have a better playoff record than he does...sure. He hasn't always shown up like he should but the same could be said of any quarterback. Just like last year in the AFC Championship game...that was probably the worst game I have ever seen of Brady. I mean he was missing wide open guys left and right. Now say they played the next day who knows if the same thing happens. Just happened he was off that one day. Manning has had plenty of great games in the playoffs as well but all people like to do is focus on the bad ones and that is it.

Also remember those favored things actually have more to do with betting than actually what Vegas thinks is going to happen in the game. They set the lines for those games with the idea of how can we make the most money and get the most bets.

No crickets. I already said what I wanted to say. Lines are set to get equal betting on both sides. The facorites are still supposed to win. Thats why they are the favorites. 9-8 in games you are favored to win is not good. Its just not. That record is not against the spread. Its straight up.
