Torts is gonna be pretty unhappy after tonight's game too.

I think it's unlikely that either Lavy or Torts starts next year with their respective teams.

I dunno...some one who is capable of changing his system to fit the personnel of the team.

Whoa.... what a shorten year of hockey in Philly & NYC. Seems the Flyers put points on the board, the other team just scores more & the Rags just plain suck.

My 2 cents worth. Loud mouth coaches dont last anymore. Players just tune them out. Guys who are firm and blast the team now and then and pick and choose what they want to have happen seem to do better.

After a few years of a guy barking at you to get the jam...it must get old and boring. BTW what is the jam anyways..never could understand what that nonsense was about.

Not only do people get tired of the yelling, but at what point does the yelling just not motivate people? If a coach is yelling all the time it's impossible to tell when he's really pissed or if it's just another day at the office.

Compare that to a mild mannered coach that blows up, that comes as a shock to the team, that will wake people up and maybe get some positive results.

I'm with you. I can see a vocal coach motivating their team initially, but when things are going bad it seems like the fastest way to lose them. The NFL and NBA have some pretty good examples of this too.
