This is awesome. More ammunition to chap the hides of those who mindlessly point out the hits record to say that Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame.

If Ichiro's Japanese numbers count, than Rose's minor league numbers count.

Ichiro still has a long way to go to get to 4683...

Ichiro is a major talent. IMHO, he is a first-ballot guy. But he is NOT the hit-king.

Would my little league numbers count too? I might have a case that I am the hits king

I think it is legit to acknowledge this event, but only as a trivial note. Rose is still the hit king. Ichiro is an amazing talent. Both are true.

I would way rather take a selfie with Ichiro than Pete Rose.

Aaron Garcia, former San Francisco 49er has more career TD's in pro football than Peyton, Favre, and Elway... COMBINED. Means nothing.

Same here, Nippon Pro baseball is not the MLB. Leron Lee is Japanese Baseball's all time batting average leader. In 8 years in the MLB he was a .250 hitter.

SaDahuru Oh is not the home run king in MLB.

I don't like Pete Rose, but this is a joke at best. If half the MLB was made up of free agents from Japan, if a #5 starter for a good pitching staff from Japan was stepping in as a starter in the MLB, then go ahead and debate it.

I have no problem saying if he started his career in the US he probably would hold that Major League record. But you can do that with anyone. If Warren Moon and Brett Favre started as rookies like Peyton Manning, they may still have all the NFL records. If Jordan didn't choose baseball for a couple years he probably could have won 8 straight. But that isn't reality.
