The Oswalt signing is looking smarter and smarter. I still think Oswalt, Harrison, and Darvish can keep us above water until we get Holland and Colby back. Thank God we are close to the allstar break to buy our pitchers some time.

The guy who ought to be getting a message right now is not Feldman ... it is Feliz.

I don't know what I would be willing to part with for Grienke considering what he is going to cost in contract after this year. However, he seems to be a legit pitcher and I love having those on our team. Maybe he is scouting him just on the chance that we can make an offer MKE likes without giving up our top guys. Who knows, but it sure is nice to be on the buying side and not selling side!

Never underestimate what JD is really doing ... if it looks like TEX is considering Grienke ... is that for real or just to force LAA into making a move or think it is having to bid against TEX ... when in fact TEX is looking at doing something totally different?

(Examples ... 1. Adrian Beltre acquisition ... 2. Trade with Toronto for Napoli ... 3. TEX looking like it is in the market for Heath Bell until it is too late when in fact it was Adams it was after ... while at the same time making a move the day before with BAL on Uehara. Ends up with Bell not being taken at the deadline and granted FA by SDP in October.)

If we (and all the other GMs) have learned anything about JD is to expect the unexpected. Just think ... what would be the most unorthodox move TEX might make that you aren't hearing about on MLB.com ... especially with Holland, Lewis, and Feliz all three on the DL?

You think he'll get a third shot at it? Bet not. So with that in mind ... who might TEX be waving around as #1 trade bait?

Feliz showed the ability to start. Can't blame the kid for injury.

Could be ... or could be TEX may feel Feliz may be injury prone based on results of his work out as an SP both last season and this one.

TEX wants to win this year and with a late season return the best they an expect from Feliz ... do they offer him even up for Grienke? Dunno ... but is it that much of a stretch? What would you do if you were MIL? Would you make that move?

Not with greinke only being a 3 month rental. If we could have him for next year too I would.

well what other solution is there? right now and for the next couple of weeks our rotation is Scooter, Harrison, Grimm, Darvish & Oswalt and Harrison is listed as day-to-day with lower back tightness. Holland has just completed his 1st rehab start and could be a week or more away from returning, Lewis is probably out until mid to late July and Feliz isn't likely to return until early August if at all. do you feel comfortable with a gimpy Harrison, Scooter & Grimm constituting 3/5ths of our starting rotation?

Aren't we overreacting a little? I'm betting Harrison will be just fine, and we only have one more week until the all star break. Colby will be back, and Holland will shortly too.

For the next 10 games... yes. Then its the Allstar Break....
Lewis and potentially Holland will be back after then.
Followed by Uehara, Ogando & Feliz shortly there after...

Greinke...ehhh... I'm skeptical of him. I'll put it that way.

Lewis probably won't be back until sometime after the 15th probably later. Holland will come back after AS break but Feliz is not going to be back before the end of July and will, if he does come back this season, be in the pen. Ogando will probably not return until late july.

more important is a gimpy Harrison who is one twist of his back from joining them on the DL

i am less skeptical of Greinke than i am of Scooter & Grimm & Harrison's back & Lewis coming back any earlier than the 21st & Feliz coming back at all

Lewis was going to miss one start, but the Rangers decided to DL him and take advantage of the All-Star Break and the roster spot

Holland is a couple rehab starts away from returning

Harrison looks as if he was taken out for precautionary measures

We'll be fine after the all-star break, not willing to sell the farm for Greinke and then lose him to FA, a la Cliff Lee

No i look at the rangers site and read their estimates. You don't rush Lewis' problem and deposit is listed as not going to as being on the 60-day so which indicates long term problems. Harrison has lower back tightness which could result in him going to the dl if it worsens. But you're right why worry

I haven't read anywhere that they even THINK it could be serious, Lewis said he had some discomfort and wanted to take a start off, the Rangers using the All-Star break, decided to give him at least 2

What chicken little, conspiracy theory laden articles are you reading?
