Less games means less margin of error for any given team so my point would be it behooves a college team to not mail-in any games whatsoever, the kids that aren’t going beyond college are playing for the love of the game and pride. Potential NFL players are as well and also playing for scouts etc.

No, "less games" does not mean less margin for error -- the relevant metric would be the percentage of games that a team can lose. At present, that's at least 23% and it would be expected to rise with a larger playoff field.

That's charming to still believe that these players are playing for the love of the game, or pride, but they are all professionals at this level now. The prime example of which is probably Carson Beck transferring away from Georgia in search of a bigger payday elsewhere. If your notion about the players' concern for impressing scouts held any water, we wouldn't see players opt out of bowl games. For most players, the NFL Combine is the critical day, and it is certainly not a September game against a MAC team.

Oh are you not the one that said Oregon deserves a share of the title regardless of what happens? Must’ve been someone else :noidea:

Yes, I said that. Why do you think that's relevant here? Even if I was an Oregon fan, and I made clear that I'm not, that's irrelevant to this discussion.
