REGISTERED GUMP!!!
I dont think he takes it he just got done dealing with sanctions not sure he wants more.
I dont think Golden is that great of a coach IMO.
Lot has happened in the meantime might want to try google to catch up.Years after Al Golden was playing, and later coaching under Joe Paterno, didn't Golden say that being the head coach at Penn State was his dream job?

From what I have read on the comments attributed to O'Brien it sounds like the Penn State job is a miserable experience and sanctions are only part of the issue. The rumors about cult like behavior evidently didn't go away with Jopa's death so this job maybe a black hole. Unless they were going to give me an extremely large deal with total control (ie Saban's contract) I wouldn't touch it.

Not hating it's a trend in big programs at some point you have to those that shouldn't meddle to go home. It happened at Bama and we are working out of it at Auburn. Bottom line the new coach needs to be given absolute control and everyone get out of the way.Doubt we'd even hire you as a waterboy.
Thats how the "cult" rolls
The canes didnt show up in thier biggest games of the year.
DC was horrible, OC was very questionable and the entire team was flat.
Thats coaching
Show me a team that comes out flat in a bowl game after preparing weeks for one game, thats coaching. I dont care if the team is ranked #1 or 6-6.
