There was a good article on NHL.com (I think) about Iggy. I think he's really enjoying the role of secondary guy on the team for once...he said it's the first time he's been on a team in this situation in the NHL. Even on the good Calgary teams, it was an underdog story. I can see him having a big series because the focus of the teams HAS to be on Sid/Geno, while Iggy gets to float around. Like I mentioned in my Powerplay analysis...he's the least threatening out there on the first unit. Of course, this is all under the assumption that Sid is healthy, which we should know today if he's cleared to play game 1.

Still no news on the Sid front. He was working with the extra guys this morning, BUT his MD appt is this afternoon. Probably going to be a GTD as I imagine DB will keep this close to his chest either way.

I don't know if Capuano gives him the rope that MacLean did in Ottawa, but Matt Carkner is one tough guy who is ACTUALLY a deterrent against idiots like Cooke. Carks won't think twice about taking a suspension to defend his team's star player. Cooke is cowardly enough to not try anything I would think. He wouldn't want o face the music like Boyle did.

There was a game against Toronto this season in which Phaneuf hit JT. Carkner went right after him. Phaneuf was so he passed the puck to an Islanders forward & the Isles scored.

Those are three pretty big omissions from the lineup (even pignose)

My take on Sid.

If the Pens win game 1, he won't play game 2. If they win game 2, he won't play game three. Game 4 he'll be back in for sure.

If the Pens lose game 1, he'll play game 2. Or if series is tied 1-1, he'll play game three.

I like Bennett over TK (I like TK, but I like Bennett more, but I expect Bennett to sit when Sid comes back, assuming no other injuries up front)

Bennett is so smart with or without the puck... I just can't wait until he adds more strength... I see him turning into a Jagr/Stevens hybrid... not as creative or skilled as Jags more than Stevens and not as nasty as Stevens but more than Jags... know what I mean... kid just has high IQ and confidence... needs muscle.

Sorry JA, disagree on the Sid front. This is on the MD. It's his work on that jaw, and he's liable for issues that occur after the fact. There's no predicting this one.

I am with Pix on this one if not cleared the outcome won't change when he returns.

It will be a fun game 1 to say the least.
