What a nice goal. Those passes looked like it should have been on NHL 15 not a real game.
Looked to me like the Devils just got away with a massive hook while the Pens had the puck in their end.
And how is whatever just happened to Megna not a penalty?
I've given up even trying to decipher what constitutes a penalty anymore.
Garage league is garage league.
What the Pens have endured these past 8 to 10 games is what the post-season always looks like. Might as well get used to it. I don't want to have to get used to it, but that is how they are calling it, or not calling it, I should say.
Even if you're calling it loose, riding a guy with your stick horizontal and tackling a player chasing the puck from behind should be easy calls.
You would think so.
There was a play in the last game against the Canes where Gerbe put a shoulder check on Despres when both were at least 5 to 6 feet from the puck. As clear as a damn interference call can be if I've ever seen one. Despres went awkwardly into the corner where he could have clearly been injured. The ref watched all this unfold from 10 feet away and didn't even flinch.
That's the kind of crap that makes me hate NHL hockey. It reminds me of the dark days of the late 90's. Not nearly as bad, mind you, but within the same vein. Just brutal hockey to watch.
Ok on that PK Sill gets held (that Jersey pull was way too obvious) and then Crosby gets pulled down and no penalties.
Yup, Sill had the Devils reeling 1-on-3, and Gelinas just grabbed his stick and pulled him away from the puck, no penalty. Crosby splits two defensemen who both get their sticks horizontal and drag him down with them, he even keeps his feet moving and gets a shot off, and still no penalty.
This is atrocious.
Of course, letting less talented players get away with grabbing and hauling down more talented players is one way to keep games more competitive, I guess...

Congrats on the win guys! Hard fought game against a Devil team that shows up to some games better than other games. Good win, great shutout by MAF!
