That is all. Just makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know a team somewhere is starting to play hockey soon.

Port Alberni here on the island has opened up the multiplex a little early for public skating and adult shinny. I wonder how good the ice is when it's 35 degrees Celsius (that's about 94 on the Fahrenheit scale).

Yes most QMJHL teams begin training camp either today or tomorrow. My Saint John Sea Dogs officially began today but I think its mostly just orientation stuff and the real training camp starts tomorrow. I'll be attending an intra-squad game Friday night and then an exhibition game Saturday night.

How old is the rink? I've been to open skate at three different rinks in the area this summer. The oldest one had horrid ice, the newest one had so-so ice, the 20 year old one had fantastic ice.

I have to say that it is a bitter-sweet time of year for me. I love summer and hate to see it wind down. On the other hand, I love to attend Q league games and watch NHL on TV. At least for a few weeks I get the best of both worlds.
