Patriots are 6-5 in the postseason since being caught, not 4-4.

I find the idea a bit silly. Think about it, in order to get a lot of those wins they compiled from 2001-2006 in the postseason, a lot had to go their way that had nothing to do with video taping. Did videotaping help Vinatieri hit a 40+ yard field goal in a blizzard? Did it cause Peyton to throw 4 INTs in Foxboro in the '03 divisional? Did it make Kasey kick that ball out of bounds in the Super Bowl?

On the flip side, did a lack of videotaping cause Tyree to make that catch? Or Manningham? Or Welker drop that pass? If those things go the Patriots way there is no conversation. If the things don't go their way in those first 6 years, there is no conversation.

I just don't think the Patriots have been especially good the past several seasons but playing in the AFC East they're almost guaranteed a playoff spot every year.

They've played extremely well outside of their division as well though. And that 2007, 2010, and 2011 teams weren't especially good? They all fell short in the playoffs but I don't get the idea that those teams weren't very good.
