Watching the marathon of Super Bowl hype on Disney.....they did a segment before coming back onto the show of asking patriot players who the HC of New England was before Belichick....

Most didn't know.......

This is surprising to me. How would you not know who the coach before Belichick was? You'd think after being drafted or traded within 24 hours a player would at least Wikipedia search their new employer to get a sense of their teams history?

Also, on a side note, dude outside the desk of ESPN in phoenix was sporting a Hernandez jersey.

I always forget Pete was in between Tuna and The Hoody.

Unless he was before The Tuna, either way, I always forget.

He was after the Tuna and did a decent job but Kraft had a tingle down his leg for Belichick.

Big deal, half the roided up knuckleheads on Seattle don't know who their coach is right now and it's the same guy.

Seriously, why would boys that were in grade school or Jr. high school at most give a rat's ass who coached the Patriots back then?

Saying he did a decent job is overstating it by a group. He sucked, his teams were undisciplined at best and no one in New England was sad to see him go even though by all accounts he was a nice guy. Most folks who followed the Pats back then are glad that he is doing well now, but it wasn't going to happen at that time.

It's just surprising they wouldn't know.....these are grown men working for an employer. You'd think they would have some sort of knowledge of the franchises past.

So a current player of the Chicago bulls shouldn't know Phil Jackson was once a bulls coach or Michael Jordan played for the bulls? After all they were just boys in grade school and jr. High.

Most of them are in their early 20's and got a free pass through some gut college courses on their way to a big NFL payday. Expecting them to be students of the game (history-wise) is asking a bit much.

I doubt it's much different in MLB or the NBA.

You ask them and get back to me. I doubt half the current Bulls roster can spell Chicago.

Phil Jackson is viewed widely as the greatest coach ever though. Not to mention his Bulls were one of the greatest teams of all time. Pete Carroll is nowhere close to PJ, especially in NE of all places.
