Also note Mayo filling his gap next to Mathis which is a win, win for the defense. Mayo is a liability in space but a good run defender.

I am glad in a way that we are playing the Chiefs. They will be a solid test for sure. Reid said his starters will play the first half. If Mahomes is unleashed, which it seems he will be, then we will see how good our defense really is.

The Chiefs defense is not awful either. Their starters against Wentz and the offense will be a good gauge of where the offense is. If we get beaten up badly in the 1st half, then we know where we stand going into the season. The second half will be reserves against reserves. I would like to see Howell take that next step. I always view pre-season as minor league baseball. The competition picks up from game to game as the draft picks work their way up the rotation snap count. I would like to see Howell against the Chiefs 2s and see what he does.

First, we know the Chiefs are better and have one of the best HCs in the league the past 20ish years.

Second, neither team is going to game plan. However it will be good to see how Washington stacks up against the Chiefs.

I am looking for progress from our rookies/younger players and how our starting secondary plays.

I heard the other day on 106.7 or Team980 the starters might go a half. Guard and TE positions might make that hard. I suspect we will not see the 1st team at all in the last preseason game.

i think the 1st team will go half to 1 full qtr tomorrow. they should not play at all in 3rd preseason game.
