Well, if you're relying on your MLB to cover their best receiver, you're in trouble - no matter how many steps that LB may or may not have lost (let alone in the traffic that type of route combination generates).

I think they were running cover one because it looked like Witherspoon was in man coverage and Thielan was running a crossing route. I think Thielan must've beat whoever had man coverage responsibility of him and when he entered Wagner's zone he just ran by him.
