If Detroit can't get a significant pass rush on Rodgers this one could be over early. As good as Detroit's offense can be I think they would be hard pressed to keep up with the Packers in a shootout.

I think the packers are going to have a lot of trouble limiting Calvin Johnson. Bell is in for a big game as well. I also think Detroit is going to get beat up through the air. I'm not big on either secondary, I don't think either set of corners is really that great. I expect big games from Nelson and Calvin.

I'm going with 31-28 Lions.

Agree my main concern is they want pressure with the linemen only. While this works in the first half as the game progresses they get tired. This is why teams have no pressure in the 2nd half. What we need to do is show some creativity and blitz.

It should be a great game. If the fans are as raucous as they looked on MNF, then Detroit has the advantage. Detroit's D strength is the line. Stopping the run will ratchet up the pressure.

Lot of Packer fans want to see the defense do well in this game. I guess it's sort of a litmus test for them.

Personally I think Capers should have been fired 3 years ago..

I think the Packers will shut down everyone else and see if Stafford/megatron will beat them.

Kind of amusing to see that most Detroit fans don't seem confident in this game, but if you talk to a lot of Packers fans they aren't confident either. My prediction is something like 27-24...but who gets that 27?? I have no clue. This game could go either way. If our offense stays consistent then I think we will win. But if our offense is up and down then I think Detroit can definitely win this one. It is a home game for Detroit, and you guys have a pretty good defense and explosive weapons on offense. I think it will be very close.

Great post Dan. Many of same feelings here. Lions have had a hard time stopping ARog.

With new Defensive scheme and more pressure, this high powered offense is what I want see it against. Gunny was very vanilla and Packers picked us apart.

It all depends on the Lions defensive line. If they can pressure ARod -- Detroit will win this game. If they don't put pressure on ARod. Detroit's secondary will get picked apart.

Coming into the season -- Detroit's biggest question mark was the CB position. It was also their thinnest position for depth. Now that we are picking up CB's off the street to start for us again, after injuries to Bentley and Lawson -- We have to force ARod to rush his throws. It is time for the DL to earn its money.

I'm picking Detroit in a defensive struggle -- 34-31.

Aj Hawk and Clay Matthews are great in run defense, but are pretty subpar in pass defense. I think Ebron and Fauria will play a HUGE role this week.

Packers games always make me nervous. Here's hoping for a good game. Lions need to hold on to the football, limit penalties, and get good pressure on Rodgers.

My entire family are Packers fans and are all picking the Lions. I've watched about 92% of the pickers on this site take Green Bay and while I want Green Bay to win I see the Lions coming out on top. I think Green Bay will beat Detroit when they come to Lambeau Field.

that is a small front with 2-5 of 5 LB... should control the run game. Sure they will not though

Gorer versus Cobb will determine who wins. I don't like the matchup for us.
