Even with hurt corners and the pass rush a little off, this is not the Washington defense. I expect we'll put up a much better fight than they did.

Yeah, that O line of Green Bay is not that good but they have an amazing QB. If we get a pass rush, then this keeps us in the game. And there is no reason why our 2 TE sets should not annihilate that GB defense. I don't think they are that good. Andy has to hit those receivers though. This throwin high shit has to stop. Reminds me of Carson after knee injury.

Dalton has to be good for us to win -- and that, in the end, will probably be our undoing. A repeat of his first half performance Monday would be disastrous.

I disagree, to an extent. Of course he needs to play well, but the best way to beat the Packers is to keep Rodgers off the field. To that extent, the running game has to really step up. Sustain drives, wear down the packers defense, and chew up as much clock as possible.

Just to chime in because we already played them: their run defense is much improved. The Niners beat them by throwing the football. If Andy can settle down and not overthrow his recievers so much then you guys have a good chance at beating them. I think GB is an elite team this year. It's going to be a struggle because they can bring some pressure on the QB.

Good luck to you guys.

The packers are on fire, only thing that can stop the Packers right now is the Packers.

if you don't like it, don't watch.

Dalton didn't look great for parts of the Steelers game, but he still put up the best passer rating he has ever had against the Steelers and it was the first time he had 0 turnovers against them. That is a good step in the right direction.

He also didn't take advantage of open receivers and was extremely lucky that Troy didn't get him for a pick 6. I thought he made some nice plays.... The pump fake and throw to Eifert was great, getting the ball out to Gresham on that bootleg was very nice. But he's just too inconsistent and it will haunt us when we play a team that can put up points in a hurry.

Wasn't Dalton's career passer rating like something in the 40s against the Steelers? Beating that isn't that impressive. It was also BY FAR the worst Steeler team he's ever faced, and even then, he had a sure pick dropped, and also a pick 6. He will have to play much better.

On D, our linebackers will have to play better than they did against Pitt. If they're dropping in coverage, Rodgers is deceptively good with his legs.

I agree, i'm just saying the game wasn't all bad and people who want to tear Dalton down can't see that. I had some bad throws that he just missed, especially early. I thought he settled down well in the 2nd half. Another thing is they threw entirely too many times. Dalton should hardly ever throw the ball that many times, especially when we aren't down and needing to come back.

Not close. In his 4 games prior to this his ratings were: 61.8, 77.6, 56.4, 58.5. Yesterdays was 81.7. Still not where it needs to be, but the lack of a game changing turnover is a nice change. Year the Polomalu play was a little scary, but Troy hit it with his fingers so he was never picking it off. Still it would be nice for Dalton to see him coming and change the play.

We need to get Gio the ball more, even if it continues to be short dump offs. I like him coming out of the backfield with the ball in his hands a lot more than I like a screen to Sanu or Jones

Oh absolutely. Gio needs 20 touches per game.

Can't see the Bengals winning this one...and this is exactly the kind of game they need to be able to win to be true SB contenders. The issue is that it will be a shootout. GB will put points on the board. Despite our vastly better offensive and defensive personnel we will still lose for one reason...their QB is heads and shoulders over ours. It's not a defensive league anymore...to win big you need to be able to hang with the elite offenses and just can't see Dalton doing that. He's a game manager, not a game winner.

We got lucky on Monday. Just like Dalton had some bad bounces against the Bears he should've been turned over several times by the Steelers. I think Dalton is better than he was on Monday. He was clearly way too excited and does typically hit the passes that he missed. The issue is that like 80% of his passes are under 5 yards. Sooner rather than later defenses are going to key in on that. To take the next step he needs to throw the ball down the field. With our personnel on offense (which if awesome IMO...love the Gresham and Eifert combo) we should be a juggernaut...not a dink, dink and then dink some more offense.

Eh, I think it will be 27-24 type game. I don't think GB drops 35-40 on us.

If we can keep them under 30 we've got a shot. I think our pass rush will really need to hit. That will be key. If Rodgers has time he'll pick apart our secondary and I do not like Finley or Cobb v. our D. This will be one of those games where if we get a lead in the 2nd half they cannot shut down and go ground and pound to work the clock. They'll need to stay aggressive and try to put up points and not run clock. I think it will be a good litmus test.

I think we can. We need to get Gio involved early and often in this game though, then use BJGE on short yardage downs to get the 1st. SF shredded them through the air, Green Eifert and Gresham need to have big games.
