I accepted RR wanted to get better at QB. He didnt care about the trade compensation. I already said we overpaid but it was for a qb. Of course, everyone is playing Monday morning qb
There were a LOT of unhappy posters with the trade the second they found out about it. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but the only poster who was happy with the trade immediately afterwards was you. Everyone was else was either disappointed or had serious reservations.

Regradless of any of any of that though. @skinz2winz was on point with his post in the game thread. The Skins will need a different QB than the 2 who've played for them this year. That's why Howell should've been the choice to play against GB. Though that's coming from my perspective as a fan. RR's perspective as a HC is different.

I think you're on point in saying the Skins were lucky GB DBs dropped some INTs and a ticky tack penalty took away another defensive TD from the Pack. Or the Skins are blown out in the 1st half. But I'm not sure things are much different if Wince is playing instead of Taylor. They both suffer from some of the same issues. Holding the ball too long n inaccuracy. Taylor has better pocket presence n Wince has a bigger arm.

I agree 1000% with you it should have been Howell yesterday. IMO we blow out GB with Wentz b/c of bad offense from GB and good defense from us. TH made alot of bad decisions yesterday. I don't want to get into all of them b/c we won. He was saved by the TMac bomb and I will leave it at that.

I was happy we got Wentz b/c i didn't want to go into the season with TH or a rookie QB. I believe the 1st half TH is what we would have gotten if TH was the starter all year. IF TH can get one more win to get us at 4-4 then lose probably lose the next two. we will be 4-6. Wentz will be back and should beat the Texans and Falcons which would make us 6-6 going into Dec. So, we will be playing meaningful football games in Dec.

He made a lot of bad decisions in the 1st half no doubt. He played good in the 2nd half. The bad GB offense did help quite a bit. Aaron Rodgers is having a down year no question.

After watching Wince for what, 6 weeks now, I'm in agreement with skinsdad. We'd probably be in the same place as we are if Taylor has played all year. I don't see either one leading the Skins to a playoff berth. I think there's a better than decent chance the Skins lose their next 3 and depending on what the Cowboys, Eagles n Giants do in those 3 weeks. Regardless if Carson is ready or not. There won't be any more excuses or reasons not to start Howell against Houston.

This week is huge. TH should be able to win this one. Are you saying RR doesn't go back to Wentz if we are 4-6 going into Houston?

I think TH gets the next three games.

I think Wentz could get better with more time in the offense. Right now he is not reading out the plays. He is inaccurate as hell though. I do not think that gets better.

I also think if there is a future QB on the team now it is the Howellitzer.

The Skins chances of winning this week are just as good as the Skins chances of losing this week. Nothing good is a given with this team.

Actually my post was more along the lines of if the Skins are 3-7 and if the Boys, Eagles and Gmen are still rollin like they are. There's no more excuses not to play Howell. We know what the Skins have in Taylor. I believe we know what the Skins have in Wince. I wanna see what the Skins have in Howell while someone, even if its Skins opponents are still playing for something. I could give 2 shits about the Skins making the playoffs with some shitty 8-9 or 9-8 record just to get bounced out the playoffs wildcard weekend. Hell, if I could make it happen. I'd start Howell against Indy.

Why would the team have blown out GB with Wentz? You have claimed the OLine is awful and his receivers drop the ball? You make it sound as if the team loses, Turner, the OLine and the receivers conspired against Wentz. In the jax win, you claimed the team "had their qb". So to confirm, if the team wins, Wentz balled out, if they lose, the offense betrayed Wentz.
Wentz would not have blown out GB. I don't know if he really blows out anybody. He didn't blow out an awful Chicago team and a 1 win Detroit team. You continue to inflate wentzs skill and impact on this team. I have never seen a person so obsessed with a player in my life.
What makes you think Wentz should beat falcons and Texans? He was 2-4 as a starter and was beyond terrible against some teams.
I look forward to the team moving on from Wentz so we don't have to waste our time talking about him and overinflating his production with the team. The trade was a mistake and hopefully we don't have to deal with his incompetence much longer.

Right.
I don't understand the fixation on making the playoffs. Just like in 2020, it did nothing to help this organization in a long term perspective. It is established that the team cannot beat or compete against good teams. The team can compete with average to below average teams.
Making the playoffs means a lower draft pick and it means Rivera sticks around. Why in the world would anyone want Rivera to stick around and continue to destroy the roster? If the playoffs are made, it will probably be with a 9-8 record, and it would be Rivera's first winning season in 5 years. Is that really the coach you want guiding the ship? Do you really want Rivera to have more time with the roster? I am not sure why fans are not thinking more long term here.

I wouldn't sweat it @duke1861. I don't see us getting in. It's probably gonna take 10 wins with a tiebreaker.

I think we all want the same thing: to have a long term winning team.

I believe we all have different opinions on how that can happen or how it will happen.

I do not think Rivera and Wentz are the formula for a long term winning team. Same would go for a short term answer as well. Someone said that we know what we have in TH. The same can be said about Rivera. You have a coach who has a losing season 66% of the time and generally hovers around .500.
He also struggles with building a roster.

I believe the long term answer lies with another coach and QB.

I get that, but you are asking fans of this team to be upset and rant and rave when they win. That's a tough ask. Reading some of your posts, I feel like a bad fan for being happy about the win Sunday.

I was really hoping for a top 5 pick, but it's clear that's not going to happen. So it's really easy for me now. If they win, cool. Playoffs are always fun. If they lose, cool. Probably helps the long-term goals of this team.

What Duke says about Dean is true , if they win the wince was the reason and if the lose the team betrayed him .

look dean hates Falco but worse then that he hates to be proven wrong

he knows damn well most of us called the trade horrible , and with his injury prone past it bit him again . He won’t win 8 games which means we should have run with the BU type Falco

we are paying 28 mil for this shit when we should be paying 4

If Rivera sticks with Wentz for 2023, the team could be in trouble from a cap standpoint. Payne will have to be tagged or will walk. Not sure they can tag Payne, sign the draft class, add a starter at guard and pay Wentz. Rivera has put the team in a bad spot. Payne has been fantastic, but Rivera gambled on his performance and was wrong.

Well, when his WR dropped a td in Chicago and the kicker missed a Fg, Wents would of blew out Chi. In sundays game if Wentz was in I believe we would have scored more than 23 points. Just my opinion. Im not inflating anything, the guy is getting a bad rap this year. Im not saying he is all world. I would rather have him right now than TH.

If Wentz was healthy this week he would be playing.

I thought we have about 11 right now.
Who comes off the books?
Not sure what a tag for Payne would cost? Do we know the 2021 tag for DT?

Also, funny that Falco had the same OLine, same receivers and same oc that Wentz did, however, the results were different.
