Hell, every time someone bumps a thread from just 5 years ago I'm always like 'oh yeah, what happened to him?'. Kind of never realize people aren't here anymore until a solid old time bump.

I know, there were some that came up recently where I was like "wow where did these people go?"

Some just vanish into the darkness, never to come back

I can understand it though, if not for the Hoop I would have done the same a few years back

Ah right, I remember that now

I'm guessing by now we have servers capable of handling it

Good ole times though, I remember the original I'm bored thread LOL thought it would forever be the longest thread ever

This tells you how long my break was: When I started part 9, I named it after Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell, Jr. when they were still at Gonzaga. Still haven’t got to 9K with it. And we went through a series in about 3 months or so.

If Helton is really going to be fired by Monday, does that mean they already have a backroom deal for Meyer? :noidea:
Did they do it this early to have a shot at top rated prospective coaches first?

It seems that something must have changed, because the word since the UCLA game has been that they were leaning towards retaining him.

My guess would be that they are, at least optimistic that they can get Meyer. Apparently they've been in some sort of discussions with him.

I guess they're also in discussion with the agents of a couple of other coaches too in case they don't get Meyer.

If they have someone or are close, then it would make sense to do it now with the early signing period coming up.

Obvious game changer if Meyer takes the gig. And all that comes with it.

Looks like Herm is looking for better numbers from the offense. New OC and some position coaches for next year.

AD has a deal in place if that's happening (Helton not retained). They have to be making an announcement soon to salvage any type of recruit class.
As for Meyer, I think it will be one of the biggest sell your soul moments in CFB history if USC signs him.

I'm not sure there are many teams that wouldn't sign Meyer if he was available. His record is amazing. Almost everyone would put up with the rest that comes with it.

Good luck with his rosters of illiterate tards and players excepting gifts from agents and business pimpers on the side. Were not talking about local sports media that doesn't dare report anything negative about the programs like you find in Columbus and Gainesville. Were talking about the hyper competitive LA sports media market here.

I get it that USC boosters are desperate to relive the Pete Carroll era, but there are plenty of other options besides Meyer to get you to Rose bowls and playoffs.

Kudos to Herm for not being afraid to make coaching staff changes.

He said from day 1 he was going to act as a CEO. Hands off, do your job. If you fail sorry about your luck...

Yeah, and it's gonna take a culture change. Do you think they have the stomach for the years it takes to make that happen? They had Orgeron as an interim, but would not give him the reigns. All good, AMIR?

But then again, there is another option....

UGA beats LSU and the committee drops LSU to 4th and move UGA to 3rd.

Keeping what we already have for the playoff.

No. It will never be set up to give the opportunity for 2 SEC teams to play for the championship again. The rest of the country will be who gives a fuck which of them wins, and won't tune in....
