I don't know about that. He had an 18 yr old a true freshman QB do things no other USC QBs have done even the ones who won Heismans. It is weird seeing USC with that offense but when the RBs were healthy they did run more than your typical air raid offense. The problem was the O line that couldn't open holes. With the WR talent USC has and will have next season it would be stupid to not feature them.

Kudos to Herm for not being afraid to make coaching staff changes.

Yep. In today's game, there is more pressure than ever to win. A head coach can't afford too much loyalty.

If Helton is ultimately fired, I think that being too loyal to assistants who weren't getting the job done will end up being the biggest reason.


Even with the two 10 win seasons, there were obvious flaws that weren't being addressed.

He finally made some changes, but it may be too little too late.

Funny thing is, if he gets the same results at almost any other program...they're offering him an extension.

I disagree.

Harrell's version of the Air Raid actually features the run more than most other versions of it. USC actually had a pretty good mix of run and pass (for an Air Raid offense at least) before we lost so many running backs that Amon Ra St. Brown was playing a little running back. lol

Plus, if there is one position where USC is as or more talented as anyone in the country, it's wide receiver.

As @socaljim242 pointed out, it would be pretty stupid to not feature them.

Not sure what it means, but long time USC reporter Scott Wolf (he was the reporter that Kiffin tried to have banned which was essentially the beginning of the end for him), tweeted this afternoon that the delay on Helton is "for all the right reasons".

I know that I am in the minority of the USC fandom's thinking, but I hope that those "right reasons" are them seriously questioning whether Urban Meyer would really be the best choice...

I'm on the fence with him.

His resume' speaks for itself. But so do some of the things that have happened on his watch.

But then, I don't think he's gotten anyone in NCAA trouble.

Personally, I'd rather they hire Franklin. But I'm sure there's a lot of pressure being put on Bohn and Folt to hire Urban.
