Amen brother\Good riddance.
I wish UW would go after Harrell.
No. I still want us using TEs in our offense to do more than be 6th lineman to block on every play. There are plenty of other OCs out there that can do a great job and keep with the mixture of pro / spread we like to run.I wish UW would go after Harrell.
It's possible but if they would have decided that yesterday I would think they would have announced that this morning.
There would be up to 20 mil in buyouts that would of had to been paid to Helton and the staff if hey went with letting him go. Even for deep pockets USC, that's a massive check. From what I've heard, the delay was that they were in talks with Bob Stoops, but couldn't reach an agreement on how much he could pay assistants. Apparently they contacted a couple of others too.
Something had to be done quickly because of the early signing period.
My guess is that they took into consideration all of the injuries and youth. Plus the fact that he stabilized the program and the fact that there has been all kinds of turmoil and uncertainty re: whether he would be kept or not.
I expect that if there isn't significant improvement next season, it will be his last and he'll be gone early enough that they will have time for a proper search.

I think USC went with the right call in keeping him. 8-4 record with what was the 3rd string QB going into this season. Ended ranked in the top 25. Did this all with a massive cloud over the program.
