Updates now that lines are stable.
Utah -13.5 / 51.5
USC -7 / 57.5
UW - 3 / 57.5
Cal - 7 / 52.5

Not a lot of movement in the lines and minor changes in the O/U.

That's all he's left with after years and years of his team failing to beat their rivals. It really is all he has left.

Pac12 officiating has been a joke for decades and we get nothing but empty rhetoric about improving it. That game in particular was an example of how broken it still is, and we get other examples nearly weekly.

So a lawyer overturned the replay officials on a targeting call live during a game? :L

It shouldn't surprise anyone, and yet this kind of feels like a new low.

This conference has absolutely no idea what the hell they are doing. From the top down. It's embarrassing.

Yeah, everything about this conference is a joke. It seems like the presidents and commissioner are completely okay with it, too.

So have they finally hit rock bottom? Or is this par for the course and the Pac is destined to stay on this track or only find band aids instead of real solutions?

They let a lawyer overrule trained refs on an obvious targeting play.

It's well beyond time the teams and schools stood up and demanded better. Every other major conference does things much better. There's no excuse for this.

This situation specifically? Who knows. If they’re gonna fix anything officiating, or at least keeping lawyers out of officiating seems like something everyone should be able to get behind. The deeper issues that factor into the pac being a laughing stock among other major conferences, the abortion of a network, the seeming to want to go against what every other conference has figured out about how the current college football system works, that’s all shit the presidents seem to like.

As Wilner pointed out they have already made that change, but that's not good enough. Several years ago they brought in a highly respected name to run the officials and ended up running him off. They have deep systemic issues.

As for the presidents and chancellors, football is a primary revenue and media exposure source. We need the coaches and AD's to rise up and make waves. There are too many problems that have gone on for too long and everyone seems content with shrugging and sticking to their own programs.

What is it going to take for that action to come?

I don’t get how Scott isn’t forced to step down today. Just with the $C/good guys game he has made 4 or 5 different public comments about the two targeting calls. If you are going to lie, just stick the lie even if we all know you’re lying. Don’t lie, “correct it” then lie again.
