Harbaugh got Andrew Luck, had two decent seasons and has been overpaid/overvalued ever since.
eh, not so fast. He did take the 49ers to the Super Bowl. I am by no means a Harbaugh apologist, but the guy came with a great resume

"attempts"??? Lol.

Gopher's have a dozen Georgians on their roster, or did. Both of their graduating RBs are from Georgia. The one was our starting RB, and a very good one, ran for a lot of yards in his time here.

Or All-Conf Soph WR Rashod Bateman, is from Georgia, too.

In fact, 9 of our incoming recruiting class are from SEC country, including 2 from Georgia and 3 from Florida, 1 from Texas.

Yes, attempts. Georgia is arguable the most talent rich state right now. They had 12 of the top 100 recruits in 2020. They had 37 4 star recruits in the state.

Out of 37 4 or 5 star recruits from Georgia — 36 of them signed with a SEC or ACC school. Myles Hinton signing with Stanford is the only one who didn’t.

Now signing random unheralded Georgia recruits definitely happens for schools outside of the ACC and SEC — but big time recruits from that state are extremely tough to get to sign.

Here are the 2020 list for the state.

However, Gopher fans I would brace for Fleck leaving in the next year or so. Extension be damned. All contracts mean are scheduled payments.

USC isn't going to keep Helton after another subpar season.

And Clemson's history prior to Dabo becoming coach was NOT glorious. From 1983 through to 2008, not once did Clemson finish ranked better than 9th. They finished out of the Top 25(14 ssns) more than they did(12 ssns) during that 26 year period.

Heck, if you compare Dabo's first 3 seasons to Fleck's, Fleck's 2nd and 3rd seasons at Minny were better than Dabo's 2nd and 3rd seasons at Clemson.

So how is it that Clemson can rise up and become a Natl Superpower, but a school like Minnesota or even a Nebraska, can't?
Well first and foremost, Minnesota has finished ranked twice in the 40 years before Fleck showed up and never higher than 17. They also hadn’t won the conference for 50 years.

It’s a hell of a lot tougher to convince good players to travel half way across the country to a campus that has to have tunnels for students move around campus in the winter time. Clemson is a lot closer to where the talented players are.

We aren’t doing a fair comparison here.

So you must be saying that Fleck is WAY better than Dabo was then? Since his obstacles are so much bigger, yet he has done better than Dabo did in his 2nd and 3rd seasons? lol

Why would he leave? He has everything he could want here.

Dabo won his division and played for the conference title in his first year, and won a conference title in his third. Fleck has yet to win a division title.

No, Im not saying that at all. But if after 11 seasons at Minnesota, he has 4 playoff appearances, 3 finals appearances, and two Natties; he would probably they greatest coach we have ever seen.

Do they really have tunnels for the students at Minnesota to get around? If so, that’s awesome.

LOL, in the ACC? The ACC sucks and always has. The ACC has been the weakest of the P5 conferences historically and rarely rises about that.

And anything a coach does in their first year only means they did well with someone else's players. How did they not even make a bowl game in their 2nd season? Fleck DID make a bowl game in his 2nd season.

And if UMn goes 11-2 and can't even claim a Conf Title, but Clemson can claim a Conf title with just a 10-4 record, well, again, more proof the ACC sucks, hardly a challenge to win that conference.

I can agree with that. I have high expectations, but that would probably exceed them.

But if anyone deserves to garner that title, "greatest coach we have ever seen", that might be Fleck. But only if he stays HERE, at Minnesota, and does that.
