If SC has 10 blue chip recruits and 10 Div 1 schools competing for them, and another state has only 2 blue chip recruits, but is the only Div 1 school in the state, then THAT school, despite being in a state with less blue chip recruits, could be considered to have an advantage, because they have MORE recruits per school.


Georgia produces a ton of talent, but how many Div 1 schools are in the area? A Crapload? Maybe?

Ok, I have one for you. Minnesota has 17 Fortune 500 companies, but only a little over 5.5 million population. So that means we produce fully THREE Fortune 500 companies per each mil in residents. I don't think any other state comes close to matching this.

So what does a team like Clemson have an advantage over a team like Minnesota for say a Florida recruit or a Georgia recruit? LOCATION. These recruits were brought up watching the ACC and SEC, some were brought up Clemson fans by their parents.

In B1G country, you are brought up watching B1G football. Every kid wants to play for championships, but many kids don’t want to travel across country to try. So Georgia kids usually go to Georgia or a school in the ACC or SEC. It isn’t rocket science.

If you went to Georgia and to sell a recruit on Minnesota you said — we have a lot of Fortune 500 companies in our state. They’d laugh you out of their house.
