Been there, done that...Nolan actually played pretty well for the Flames, but it looks like Feaster wants to go with youth and speed, and I can't disagree with that approach.

Now he'll NEVER get hired by the Wings using that kind of logic...

Not sure why so much hatred for Nolan.. the guy is still a stud (albeit slow and a lot more fragile these days) and can score 15 goals easily in the NHL. For $1M or so, it's a great deal.

I wish our GM wasn't so fucking stubborn and let go of whatever bridges-that-were-burned stuff and signed Nolan but it'll never happen.

I'll just have to root for him to do well on your team now, I guess... :L

no hatred for Nolan coming from me ... he was a stud back in the day ... operative phrase "back in the day" ... I did poke fun at the signing but Ill just have to reserve judgement until camp starts and he gets on the ice for preseason games. He's saying he played in a no hit league last year so he's super fresh and his body has never felt better so we will see.

and he's saying all the right things right now ... ie he'll do anything to make the team... he'll stand in front of the net if canucks want him to ... kill penalties ... play 10 mins a game or less if need be

I also shouldnt pile on the canucks for giving guys second chances because thats a good reputation for a franchise to have amongst the NHLPA membership. Theyve given alot of guys the opportunity to compete the past couple of preseasons and some of them have ended up getting contracts ... if not with the canucks then theyve done enough to showcase themselves for other teams.

Gotcha, fair enough.

Yeah, makes sense... all he should be looking for is to be given a shot at this point.

Good on the Canucks for giving him that shot and if he just doesn't have enough to make it, he should just retire.

I see him as a potential replacement for Torres... if he's still got legs. Better hands, less head-shots.
we'll see. I'm open minded about it - there's no downside to giving him a look.

interesting that both Nolan and Jagr (from the famed 1990 draft class) are both returning to the league from Europe at the same time
I think only those two and Brodeur are left from that draft.

The stink of Trevor Kidd still lingers...

Owen Nolan?!?! What happened, Trent Klatt wasn't available?

he had his chance. wanted to cash in after being the lucky triplet for a year, and Burke drove him to the airport instead.
at least they didn't lay down the cake ahead of time like for Sundin!!

Klatt was one of my favorite grinders, and played one of the best checking lines of the 90's with Joel Otto and Shjon Podien.

Why is it that you can't set foot in the Room of Hockey Memories without stepping on a Canuck fan's toe (or head)?

fuck you, Mister Four Cups in Recent History. :brick:

our chances are few and far between. we have a long memory when things go wrong.
ask Buffalo about Brett Hull's skate, or Toronto about Kerry Fraser's vision impairment.

Trent Klatt had the best 3rd grade haircut I've ever seen not on a 3rd grader.
