I would take the under on that with almost any player just as a safe bet

funny

15.5 is exactly how many I think he will have

I said before I expect him to be like Freeny in this type of defense. No more pass coverage. Just pin his ears back and go for the Qb. Don't think he will even be asked to defend the run. He will have Carter and Lee behind him

As far as Spencer goes. I don't see him getting 10. I don't see him having all the moves needed to be a sack specialist in a 4-3.

Nor the motor

you know ,the way that D Ware annihilated the Jets back in 2011, where he wreaked havoc in their backfield, I think you folks are making a mistake by moving him out of the OLB position. I mean, what the heck are the folks in Dallas drinking that they make a boneheaded decision like that?

I am not trying to be disrespectful, but when I heard this was happening I was totally floored.

Definitely taking under.
Don't think anyone on the team gets 15.5 sacks.

you should check Ware's stats.... off year ... averages 15.5 the next .. year after has a big year... then an injured year ...

You'll get 15 out of him ... unless he gets put on IR

Well with no other threats, he will be doubled. Also I think others will get a few more than normal spreading it out. Like I said we may still get our sacks as a team, but just don't think anyone will get 15.5 this year. Don't see us moving him around this year either trying to escape double teams.

You do understand Ware will have more opportunities to wreak havoc in the backfield now? Besides we never had the right DT's to properly run the 3-4 defense.

LOL....watch Ware's season and then get back about that bonehead stuff.

Ware has put on 10 lbs, quick as ever and having a great start to camp:nod:

The other threats are the DT's will bring more pass rush pressure up the middle and either Lee or Carter will be used more in the blitz packages. You can noke the QB wonder where the passrush pressure is coming from just as much in the 4-3 as you can in the 3-4. Also there is no reason why Ware and Spencer cannot switch sides in the course of the game.

actually I think the move to DE will help the longevity of his career personally. He was already dealing with lineman whenever he rushed. Now the move to DE will play to his strengths. he will get to rush the passer, but not have to fall back in coverage (at least not as the norm) Also on running plays he will now have a LB on the outside of him so he can concentrate more on his gap than playing contain. The move helps cover his weaknesses, & covets to his strengths. If any of the other DL can step it up, the move to DE will help them as well IMO. You call it boneheaded. I call it a no brainer.

I'm not baggin' on Ware. (that is left for someone else to do) I know he will do well & help the team. I do think the sacks will be spread out more to more players. Which is why I don't think anyone will get 15.5 sacks. Also I still don't think there will be any other player offenses try to double on the DL. they will try & make us beat them with everyone else. (If ware stays healthy)
Trust me. I would love to be wrong. Just don't think I will be. Also on a side note. If the offense does run the ball more & with any success. The defense will have less plays. To me it isn't about whether Ware is good enough to get 15.5 sacks. I know he is good enough. Just don't think anyone on the Cowboys will get there.
& quite honestly think it would be awesome if the boys just had a bunch of guys with sacks instead of it all coming from one or two guys.

Schoompy, The way I see it Dallas has more sack threats in the 4-3. They way we played the 3-4 the only real pass rush came from the OLB's. Our three DT primary job was to stop the running game first then if the opportunity presented itself go for the QB. I think you will now see a DT along with the DE's go QB first with the MLB's there to help support the run game. I also think you will see Lee and Carter, mostly carter, in more blitz packages. Some team um the 3-4 very nicely, Dallas not so much.

I think Jerry listens much more than fans want to admit. I think Garrett watched Monty, Rob and Bill basically say they like what they have on this team. I know the two new defensive guy's watched all the tape and remained fine with the dline & backers they had to work with....it's only logical to assume this. Bill just wanted a true quality center (something many fans were saying 5 years back) and is good to go with the collection they have. That is the only way one can look at the TE & WR taken in rounds 2/3.

The defensive guru's have seen a few years ago Chicago Bear look alike with Carter & Lee. They have talked getting up field from the 4 dline spots. They have DRILLED strip the football. Seems with our somewhat poor run defense last season that we would be more gap control BUT NOT from what I'm reading. They want the dline attacking with little regard to run lanes. Seems they like the LB's and SS to keep the run game from gashing big long runs. It's as if they think it plays into their hands like it did the Bears for many years. LEE & CARTER will be monsters this year. Lee will be Urlacker like with 15/20 yard drops in the passing game. 7/8 INTS is on the horizon.....5 in his sleep.

Bottom line.....I'll trust the input as to why the Florida DT was passed over. jerry just pulled a jerryism with the twitch point. Many passed on this kid and the jury will remain out till we all see what he becomes in Minny.

I am no Garrett ball washer by any means but IF this fails....Bill should be out the door right along side kiffin with both their fingers in Garrett's belt loop

My deepest apologies i'm not a Texans fan. I left my login up and my loser co-worker thought it would be funny to make such a disgusting post under my name.:lame:

I hate the Texans. Even though I'm born and raised in H-Town baby.
