...exactly like last year, just two weeks earlier.

Face it, we're screwed. We've now lost 4 of the last 5 series we've played, including some real winners like Chicago, Minnesota, and the Angels. Upcoming are series against playoff contenders with some of the best pitching staffs in MLB, we may not score 2 runs per game. And oh, we suck at home. Now our starting pitching (other than Perez) is sucking gas, it will honestly be a miracle if we hold on to a wildcard spot.

I've tried for a couple weeks to avoid the doomsday scenario, but I'm seeing it as likely at this point.

That could very well happen ...we have to win 10 of 21 remaining games to get to 90 ( assuming tonight is a loss...thats a stretch!). The way we are playing now, we won't do that...I'm in a pretty negative mood right now....

It's the series before those last 2 that concern me...although that final 4 versus the Angels is now not anywhere near a given with our performances these last 2 games...

A couple things we do have going for us is that Tampa Bay is sucking nearly as bad as we are and Baltimore has a really tough remaining schedule. We may be able to back into the WC ......feels great to make it that way...

One thing is for sure, turning the game off helps.
Hard to think this team is going to pull off anything this month. And it might be sinking in with the players as well. I'm not one to say they aren't trying, because I don't believe that.

but the confidence might be kaput

I'm already starting to look at next year, it's been a long time since I've done that.
