As an example, he pointed to the defensive backs’ “breakfast club,” in which the cornerbacks and safeties get together at Redskins Park before their 8 a.m. meetings with coaches to review film, discuss coverages and, of course, eat breakfast. According to Blackmon, every position group has its own version of a breakfast club.
“Everyone is meeting,” said Blackmon, who’s transitioning from cornerback to safety heading into his 10th NFL season. “Everyone is pushing each other in the weight room. If you’re loafing or slacking off you’re gonna get called out by your teammates.”
