Nah… Phil went out of his way to bring back Hayden. Phil also mentioned that it's very important to surround our youth with veteran leadership. Which is what Hayden brings to the table. Especially when you're bringing in a guy like Fuller. Him playing with three experienced vets like Tillman, Jennings, and Hayden will be great for him. Hayden is easily one of our best five corners. He'll make the team, barring a big drop off or an injury.

Hayden is getting old & coming off an injury. Just think his signing was insurance. In case he we didn't get somebody in the draft.
Hayden was never spectacular or even decent, when he was w/the Bears.
No reason to keep him. His best position was NB which Frey ( w/ a broken hand most of the yr.) played pretty well. And now the NB position is getting crowded.
As far as leadership goes. Fuller has 2 pro bowlers to learn from. I think that is more than adequate.

It's about surrounding the guy with vets to set good examples. The more at his position to watch and learn from, the better. Hayden has a good rep for being a guy that "does all of the right things" as they like to say. (I hate that saying, but whatever…).

Frey stunk, what the hell? He literally played the entire season without having his name mentioned (except when he fucked up), he never made one play. We could have used Hayden like crazy last season. Not just at NB, but playing opposite of Jennings.

And… Hayden was a more than competent 3rd CB, and he would be the 4th guy this year. I'll take a vet with SB experience over some undrafted rookie to backup Tillman/Jennings/Fuller any day. If one of those guys goes down, you really want some random guy named Hurst or Wilson playing on a full-time basis… as opposed to Hayden?

Sorry Rich, I really got to disagree w/ ya.
In 2013 Hayden filling in @ CB was constantly burnt for 1rst downs . Hence the move to NB ,where he couldn't cover any one there either. Hence my dislike for him.
As far as Frey goes I thought he did good job @ NB considering he played most the season w/ a broken hand , that wasn't reported till lately.
I guess neither will be starting this yr.
And Hayden is getting the bigger bucks(Just my guess).
That's why I see him as the odd man out.

Just think with the logic you are using.......Tillman is getting old and coming off an injury.
........Briggs is getting old and coming off an Injury
.........D.J. is getting old and coming off an injury........just think?

Just think Hayden didn't play a down of football in 2013.
Just think an $840.000 contract isn't the big bucks.
Just think Frey played awful last year.

He was likely still drinking from the day before. Bender style.

I was there last weekend. Holy shit. What a time. I drank for about 60 hours straight. It was a nightmare. Started Friday early evening. I vaguely remember a Jimmy Buffett concert somewhere in the middle on Saturday. Then deciding not to go in after the tailgate, because I don't give two shits about Jimmy Buffett. Instead hopping a train from the suburbs to the city to act like complete fools. Spending the night at some girls god forsaken house on the upper west side of Chicago, couldn't believe I was in that neighborhood when I woke up. The debauchery finally ended at the X-Games hosted at the UIC pavilion on Sunday afternoon/evening. Holy hell. Glad I got out alive.

If I would have posted that night, I'm sure it would have looked like that.
