Considering the event, venue, etc., I'm saying Brazil's loss is the worst/most embarrassing defeat in sports history.

I can't come up with anything else that would compare. Closest I can think of is probably 1950 actually with Brazil losing at home when they only needed a draw against Uruguay to claim the title.
