ESP 0-1 CHI: Spain have already conceded 6 goals this WC. They've only conceded more in 1 WC edition in 1950 (12), also in Brazil.

always nice to see a perennial European soccer power imploding in the World Cup

there have been many come from behind victories at this world cup so far ... but SHORELY ... SHORELY ... a spanish comeback here would be monumental

It's not looking good for Australia advancing at this juncture in time.

jenniferhedger: RT @RichJolly: The last 3 European WC winners (France '98, Italy '06, Spain '10) have been eliminated from the next World Cup without a win.

Not actually true yet since Spain still has their final group game to play. Nothing to gain obviously by winning it but they still have a chance to win.

its coaches that remain committed to aging players who won it for them last go around ... its one thing for a pro north american coach to thinnk this way ... quite another for a saccer world cup coach considering THE LAST TOURNAMENT WAS 4 YEARS AGO!!!

you look at Spain ... why did they even bring David Villa if they werent gonna play him? They won the uefa u 21 last season ... where are those players on this years team ?

you look at italys world cup team this year ... 2 players who featured in the england game played on the u 21 team that lost to spain last year

I think it's semantics - Yes, Spain could win their final game, but they have been eliminated from the knockout stage without recording a victory to this point.

That's why I'm encouraged by the English team bringing some younger guys to Brazil - Sturridge and Sterling up front and Lallana came on in the 2nd half, I'd also like to see Luke Shaw in this tourney at some point.
