The D.C. area is the top market for World Cup soccer so far this year, by a wide margin. World Cup games are averaging a 5.0 in D.C. (meaning 5% of television were tuned into the game), which is higher than San Francisco (4.4), New York (4.1), Boston, (3.8), Orlando, Los Angeles, Miami, Hartford and Atlanta (all 3.7). D.C. also had the highest ratings for USA-Ghana (11.8), ahead of New York (10.2), Hartford (10.1) and Boston (10.0). Conspicuously absent from the top 10 is Seattle, a soccer-mad city that sells out a football stadium for MLS games. MLS GAMES!
