You can hand pick stats all day, Ben had 2 down years and 3 that ended in Super Bowls. Last year he was top 5 in

Rating Over Manning and Brees
Yards/pass Over Brady and Brees
6 in yards per game Over Rogers and Brady
2nd in INTs 1/3 of Mannings total

I can go on but what is the point?

i mean ya, you can hand pick stats, but really if you're trying to determine what level QB's are on you're going to look at career yards and TD's, maybe INT's too which i didn't look at.. you can probably hand pick stats to make kevin kolb look better than tom brady if you want, but generally TD's and yards are what you look at to determine how good a QB is.. and doing it over their career starts is the best way to see who is on that elite level.. maybe that's just my opinion, but i'd bet a lot of people would agree

and the steelers had seasons that ended in superbowls.. not just ben :)

Not really, he was a backup that season if I remember correctly. FWP was the next season. He had his showcase against the Bills in 04 the last game of the season he destroyed them while the starters sat. So FWP was there in 04 but got like 20 carries all season.

fair enough, wasn't sure which year FWP had his run

I see your stats, but most of those on your list didnt start as a rookie so basing things on career stats is not really apples to apples. Ben started game 2 and pretty much every game since. Brady, Rogers and Brees got to sit out their first season.

I think what we can all agree on is that John Beck, a guy who once lost his job to Cleo Lemon, is better than any other QB mentioned in this thread.

eh, clearly we're just not going to agree.. i think brady, manning, rivers, rodgers, and brees are on a different level then big ben, and you dont

it all comes down to opinions in the end anyway right?

alright elo, go ahead and wrap this one up, we're done here

Just when you thought you were out, I'll pulling you right back in!

How is Rivers in that class? I'd certainly rank Brady and Peyton at the top. Next level would be Brees and Rodgers. After that, I'd easily say that Roethlisberger is in with Rivers if not better. Until recently, Roethlisberger was the game manager for the Steelers, not the guy who was heavily relied on to win each game. Hell, I used to celebrate when he'd have a game without throwing a pick. They were a rarity at one point. His recent career demonstrates the ability to not only win those ground battles, but air battles as well. He's no longer just driving the Ferrari, trying not to crash.

Rivers had LT n'at. He's gone through a great receiving core (WRs, TEs and RBs) and had an elite running game at his disposal and never even made it to the Super Bowl. When he's good, he's good. But blaming his defense every single year of his career isn't an excuse. You've seen the stats. Why is it that he's the only one that hasn't made noise in the playoffs?

So if we're talking about who's better now and who's been better over the length of their career, the results will probably vary outside of the first two levels that I had mentioned.
