How is Rivers in that class? I'd certainly rank Brady and Peyton at the top. Next level would be Brees and Rodgers. After that, I'd easily say that Roethlisberger is in with Rivers if not better. Until recently, Roethlisberger was the game manager for the Steelers, not the guy who was heavily relied on to win each game. Hell, I used to celebrate when he'd have a game without throwing a pick. They were a rarity at one point. His recent career demonstrates the ability to not only win those ground battles, but air battles as well. He's no longer just driving the Ferrari, trying not to crash.

Rivers had LT n'at. He's gone through a great receiving core (WRs, TEs and RBs) and had an elite running game at his disposal and never even made it to the Super Bowl. When he's good, he's good. But blaming his defense every single year of his career isn't an excuse. You've seen the stats. Why is it that he's the only one that hasn't made noise in the playoffs?

So if we're talking about who's better now and who's been better over the length of their career, the results will probably vary outside of the first two levels that I had mentioned.
