Ted Field from Global said it was a police ert vehicle.

The suspect was in a white vehicle and it was at that same scene, filled with bullet holes

oh yeah, i just actually read the text from the other thread.
(was too asleep to take in the words properly this morning)

I just assumed it was a gang shooting in retaliation of Whistler,
not some asshole hunting the homeless.

fuck, I hope there was not a cop in that vehicle at the time, that is close range!!

Is there a sizeable homeless community in Langley? I know there's no shortage of whackos out that way but I don't recall seeing homeless people.

There is … along the stretch of fraser highway near the gateway casino and behind the casino near the bus loop … 2 of the crime scenes today

I would say it has been like this for that amount of time. “Downtown” “City” of Langley is run down. Lots of vacant storefronts. Lots of older low income housing in the area. My wifes grandmother lived in a seniors housing facility in the area up until 3 years ago. Douglas Park in the area is a bit sketchy. The city does the needle pickup in the playground every morning

We have some pretty sketchy areas like that in the downtown area of Duncan as well. Of course, those twin brothers who shot up the BMO bank down in Saanich hailed from Duncan. There's not much gun crime up here, but we did have a stabbing about 10 days ago that left a man dead.

Old “downtown” Haney/maple ridge is a mess too. Supposed urban problems exist in the burbs too

Our downtown is getting a little sketchy, too. There isn't enough low income housing and the rents are skyrocketing now that Campbell River is a hot spot for retirees. Because of all that, the homeless are all right downtown where the resources are.
