lol - I tried one time to explain to my folks what I do (I work with that German applications software product, you know the one where the Sharks play their home games). Anyway, they are happy knowing I do "computer programming stuff".

My wife has whittled it down to "SWC Professional". "Something with computers".

Even it was truly possible to explain it, most people would either still not get it or be freaked out by it.



It is always funny though. I say "I am in the computer field", I usually get "OH, My nephew does that too. He works at the Geek Squad!".

I just smile and nod. It's usually not worth it.

My last job was with a telecommunications software company. My mother, who usually I think is pretty bright, told a bunch of people I was a telemarketer.
