So, I went to my doctor today for this weird issue in my shoulder that has been annoying me for about a week. She diagnosed it this particular viral problem. So I said "Are you sure that's it? I thought that was supposed to be excruciatingly painful".

She looked at me over her glasses and then pulls my file up on her iPad.

"Kidney stones while on bike ride. Rode home and had dinner before going to hospital"
"Twisted Knee playing ice hockey... You finished the game, right?"
"yes"
"Hit head on roll-up garage door, concerned because of concussion history. No pain or nausea.... isn't that the one where you realized the cut needed stitches the next day?"

"yes"

"And you had a root canal and didn't take any painkillers, right?"

*nods*

"and the Ortho you went to couldn't figure out how you even walk in the mornings..."

*looks down at floor*

"So your question is whether or not this is supposed to be accompanied by a lot of pain?"

"uh-huh"

"I am not sure you even know what pain is, but yes. For a mortal, this would hurt a lot. "
